i42 early bird open, time to use our golden tickets

by Yeggstry on Monday, 15th November 2010 at 6:28 pm

Well the wet and windy November i event has just finished, fortunately we weren't there (been there, done that). However, i41 being over means that i42 sign ups are open, and we can get excited about the spring LAN :)

It does also mean that it is time to sort out what we do with our winnings from the i40 iHunt - four golden tickets! Hopefully this wiki page will allow us to keep track of what is going on.

I think I've got most of the people, but if I've missed you don't be offended! Please fill in your details and we will try and sort out the best way of us getting the most out of them.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen to the second Big Civ Weekend, this time celebrating the release of Civilzation V :)

We have nine of us around in two rooms, learning the ins and outs of the latest incarnation of our favourite strategy game, ready for the winter weekends. Judging from the number of steering wheels that have already appeared, there will be a bit of F1 2010 as well - that is, if it wasn't 18 million % fragmented :P

Plus we have the Singapore Grand Prix, so its all go this weekend. I'm glad I've got Monday morning off :)

2nd in the i40 quiz, and iHunt winners

by Yeggstry on Sunday, 29th August 2010 at 8:46 pm

Yes once again we ended up second on the quiz. We had a slow start, but managed to get the tiebreaker thanks to rolphus :D We have also found that I have a rather unhealthy knowledge of 90s TV theme tunes....

Anyway, we were relatively sober after that, partly because we started the iHunt at 11:30 last night. 6 hours of clues around the event, frantic googling and tearing our hair out whilst Hezzy, Hexxeh et al. laughed at us :(

With most of us resigned to bed, Aer and Markb courageously pulled an all-nighter and figured out the penultimate clue, and we managed to finish it off at about 12:30 today, winning the iHunt o/ Thanks to everyone that took part, and for the admins who created a challenging but fun hunt :)

History has been made

by Yeggstry on Saturday, 28th August 2010 at 6:24 pm

Well it turns out that i40 is a momentous occasion for the clan - we have won our first ever competitive TF2 match \o/ Congrats to our courageous team:

  • A2
  • DEATH2
  • Kloopy
  • Markb
  • Mithious
  • themast

Thank you to everyone from the TF2 community that have congratulated us, we appreciate your support through thick and thin :) Cadred.org managed to catch the team after the match and you can find the interview here: http://www.cadred.org/News/Article/118588/.

In other news, i40 has been great for us so far, go karting has left us aching and the games in and out of the bar have been great o/

We also have some new changes to the site as part of release 0.4.0 (not matching the i event on purpose :)):

  • A Games Profile, taking the information from steam and the ability to add your own
  • "Remember me" function
  • Avatars (at long last :p)
  • Updated graphics for inactive tabs
  • Wiki - we have been using http://wiki.cantfitmyn.net but will be making things shiny as part of the site :)
  • All CantFitMyN members can add blog entries, events and wiki items. Watch out, it could get ugly!

As always, if you have any suggestions or wish to contact us, the best place can either be via the chat tab above, or at the nearest bar ;)

Quick June Update

by leymoo on Sunday, 13th June 2010 at 1:28 pm
Good afternoon CantFitMyN citizens and friends! I'm sitting in Aer's turret living room eagerly waiting our usual Sunday pub lunch.

There has been many an event going on in the CantFitMyN community since I abandoned you for my university exams, and I'll list it here for now.

Firstly, Bashar's fun run went successfully, with much money raised for charity.

Secondly, we've had many a F1 themed gathering with lots of flatulence, bad jokes, rock band, carrcasone, Munchkin and munchies. More to follow on this.

Also, many of us (over 20!) arrived to the odd weather that was i39, with many memorable moments, including beating Jesus the day before Easter Sunday: post coming soon!

CantFitMyN 2010 F1 Weekend #2: Australia

by leymoo on Sunday, 28th March 2010 at 3:17 pm
Six members of CantFitMyN assembled together for this F1-themed gathering. It was excellently hosted by A2 near Birmingham.

Triumphs included:
  • Two fantastic breakfasts with an inspired CantFitMyN ordering grid.
  • The actual race: some proper twists and turns on Sunday. We were stuck to our seats!
  • Kloopy's new game, Zombies!
  • Actually getting up for both the qualifying and the race coverage at 5am on the Saturday and 6am for the Sunday.
  • Managing to fart more than any human beings have farted before in any weekend. CantFitMyN are currently looking for sponsors *cough*Heinz*cough*.
  • Finding yet another cool dingy gaming shop in a new area (this time Birmingham).
  • Rolphus' VOIP wizardry allowing us to dial into our mumble server from a normal phone!

The next race is during i39 - things could get even messier. Roll on next week!

Happy New Year

by Yeggstry on Monday, 1st February 2010 at 11:04 pm
Well, it is a bit late (or early if you're chinese :)) but welcome to the new decade from all of us!

We've been a bit quiet since August apart from a busy December. We had a great Christmas dinner thanks to chef genclay, and full bellies followed by card games (some from Eclectic Games) made for a very enjoyable weekend :)

The weekend before Christmas ten of our community spent the weekend answering cryptic puzzles in the epic.Hunt. With great teamwork and quick fingers we came away as winners! Thanks to epic.LAN for hosting the quiz in #epic.GAME on quakenet IRC, we look forward to retaining our crown in the next hunt.

New years was generously hosted by Kloopy, with a cozy atmosphere and the booze flowing we welcomed in the new decade and had a great time!

Next up is the start of the grand prix season, with the Bahrain Grand Prix at an undisclosed location at present. Of course we'll be around for the next i event, i39, and we look forward to seeing our good friends invaders and clan crazy. We've got so many people that we may have our own block on one section of the stands! :)

If you'd like to keep track of where we will be, you can check our events feed or calendar.
